Use the instructions on this page to manage test scenarios in TAPP during a testing cycle, as well as how to update TAPP with any defects identified.  Select images on the page to enlarge for ease of viewing.


Accessing the Testing Dashboard

  1. Go to Dashboards

  2. Manage Dashboards

  1. Click on Search in left navigation to display a list of all dashboards, OR

  2. Enter (Project) name

  3. Click Search at bottom


  1. Make your project's testing dashboard a Favorite by clicking on the star next to the name of your project 

  2. Click project name link to open the Testing Dashboard



Locating Scenarios with Filter Options

  • Locating your Scenarios > From the UVA Project Dashboard v2 dashboard click on "Test Scenarios Only".  You can also select Issue Type=Test.  

  • You may also select "Assigned to Me".
  • Only want to see unresolved scenarios? Click "Open/Unresolved" controller button

  • As you use the Controller to filter the scenarios, a refined list of scenarios is displayed

  • Scroll to the bottom of the list and select the link (highlighted with a red box in screen shot to the right) to see a detail view of the list

  1. The detailed view allows you to work through the issues (update status, add comments, reassign, etc.) – select the icon at the top right of page to toggle to detailed view.

  2. Use the top right “navigation arrows” to scroll through each filtered issue (filtered list displayed on left side of screen)


Testing Dashboard Overview


  • To find unresolved scenarios

  • To find stats

  • To get a broader picture of unit testing and accomplishments

  • Test Type

    • Use to separate out Unit, End to End, Parallel or UAT

  • Assignee

    • Use to find your scenarios or someone else's

  • Status

    • Use to find scenarios in a specific status like Start Testing, Testing, Fail, In Review, Retest, Pass

  • Priority

    • Use to find the critical scenarios that need to be tested first, then highest, high, medium, low and finally lowest

  • Component

    • Use to find all the scenarios associated with a specific functional area like Absence, Benefits, Time Tracking, etc.

  • Labels

    • Use to find scenarios that have been grouped together with a label like “FST”

  • Unresolved

    • Use to find scenarios that are still in process or need to start testing

Controller buttons change the data displayed in the rest of the gadgets on the testing dashboard. When multiple buttons are pushed all criteria has to be met for an issue to display

Using TAPP to Manage Test Scenarios

The issue detail page in TAPP is where you enter Actual Results by hovering over field and click pencil. Capture as much detail as possible about steps taken including EEID (no PII or PID info please) in order to recreate and troubleshoot any failed scenarios. 

How to advance the workflow:

  1. Click “Testing” to start
  2. New buttons appear, Pass, Fail and Start Testing

    1. If you Fail a test
      1. Be sure that the "Assign" field has the name of a consultant or SME.

      2. Enter Comments regarding how it failed (bottom of issue page)

  • Data related

    • If data does not support the task, review what data is needed for the expected outcome. Note in comments to discuss how to correct data (in tenant, in extracts for next build or in legacy for next build) and how/when to retest

  • Configuration related

    • If missing value in pick list or receive error message, reassign and note in comments what is occurring and what is expected to occur

  • Workflow or routing related

    • If BP doesn’t behave as expected, reassign and note in comments what is the expected behavior

  • What to do

    • If you are unsure what to do next, assign to your ACN Consultant and pose the question in the comments


Recording Test Results

Fail Scenarios

  1. Advance the workflow

    • Click Fail

  2. Click Assign

    • Reassign to ACN Consultant to help triage

  3. Enter step by step how the test was executed and document with screenshot if possible, in the Comments field

    1. Consultant or SME can also utilize the In Review button when researching and resolving.

  4. The scenario will be reassigned to the tester by the Consultant or SME using the Assign link when ready for retesting.

Pass Scenarios

  • Enter Actual Results by clicking on Edit or hover over the words "Enter actual results here" and click on the pencil to add steps taken

  • Advance the workflow

    • Click Pass
