All Cases is the next tab on the Main Menu directly under Dashboard. This page allows you to view every case that you have access to, per your User Permissions in the system. Cases that you do not have access to will not be displayed.

To find a specific case, or a group of cases with commonalities, you can use the filter options at the top of the page.

Case #

Cases can be searched by its specific case number in the format ##-#### (Year - the sequential number the case was assigned)

Involved Party

Typing a name here will bring up a list of all the cases that name is associated with as an involved party member

Case Type(s)

A drop-down list of case types will appear here to narrow a search to a specific case type

A drop-down list of case classifications will appear here to narrow a search to a specific case classification

Team Member

Team members must be an active SafeGrounds user employee. Type at least three characters into the box and a list of names will appear and will continue to change the more characters you type. A name or UVA ID can be typed into the box. The name must be clicked to be entered.

Reported on Start

Entering a date into Reported on Start will filter all the cases that were reported on that date and thereafter.

Reported on End

Entering a date into Reported on End will filter all the cases that were reported before that date. These two filters are usually used together to find all cases that were reported between the range of dates entered.

Select the status of the case(s) you are looking for; active, closed, in progress, monitoring

Select a phase from the drop-down list of options

Cases

Cases are set to display from newest (on top), to oldest (on bottom), but can be changed by clicking the sorting arrows next to the column headers. Click on any case in the grid to open and view the case. Users can also use the filter panes at the top of the 'All Cases' view to filter the cases that are displayed in the grid.

Date that the case was created in the system (note: this may be different than the date of the incident)

Displays all Case Types associated with that case. Case Classifications will be displayed in parentheses

The Case Owner or Complainant Dean on Point (primarily Team Member for that case

Phase

Indicates phase of review for cases that have formal review processes (such as Prohibited Conduct cases). If the case has no formal review process, the phase with display None.

Status

Active indicates that one or more Case Classifications is currently active for that case. Closed indicates that all Case Classifications are closed for that case.
