  • Know how to fill the magnet
  • Know how to fill the insert with material
  • Know how to load the insert into the fridge
  • Know how to fill the fridge with LHe
  • Know how to Tune the UVA NMR
  • Know how to run and turn microwaves on and off
  • Know all the target helper and operator duties
  • Know how to leak check
  • Know how to run the system in idle, conservation mode, low production mode, and high production mode.


Commitment: Be prepared to serve as a polarized target expert on-site as needed for the experiment. Provide what is needed by the SpinQuest Polarized Target Group.
