Operating the microwave system Polarization
Turning on the system
- Turn on the microwave chiller near the NM3 area
- Turn on the microwave interlock box in the slow controls rack. After about one minute, the value displayed on the “Gem sensor “of the interlock box should be greater than 0.10r.
- If not, do not proceed and contact the target expert.
...
- Now the power supply is ready to transmit the microwave to the target cups.
The microwave VI automatically controls the motor position to maintain the EIP frequency at 140.18 GHz. Make sure the "Track EIP" is on.
Restoring the microwave system from fault conditions
Whenever there is a loss of microwave frequency, you will hear a continuous warning sound from the microwave computer.
You As in the image below, you will see a blinking "Lost EIP signal!!!μ-wave temperature issue" warning on the microwave VI as in the image below
...
. This happens when the "wave guide temp" drops below the threshold level.
Steps to follow
- Check the front panel of the microwave power supply controller in the control room rack. If it is in fault mode, you will see red warning lights on the front panel. If it is not in fault mode, proceed directly to step d.
- Press the, transmit/standby button two times around one-second intervals. It will clear the warning and start the microwave transmission.
- If the warning comes back right at the same time, do not proceed; call the target expert.
- In a few seconds, you will see the red line (waveguide temp) in the EIO temperature plot rising. At the same time, the EIP frequency may appear (This may not appear). It will take less than 15 seconds to clear the warning sound and the alerts on the VI. Now the system is back again. No need to perform further steps.
- If the temperature does not come back, follow the step d.
- Change the Set position (rev) value to 1.75 and press enter
- Monitor the waveguide temperature on the EIO temperature plot. If there is a temperature increase OR if you observe numbers on the EIP Frequency (GHz), press STOP MOTOR
- If this action is unsuccessful, change the Set position (rev) value to 2 and repeat step e.
If the issue persists, press the transmit/standby button once on the power supply to switch the mode to standby. Then, call the target expert.
- Case 1 : "Lost EIP signal!!!" on the VI. But EIP on the camera shows frequency numbersnumbers
Action needed: Stop the VI by pressing "Stop VI". Restart the VI by pressing the "Run" button
