If you want to browse the Places collection without entering typing a search query, follow the instructions below.

1. Go to mandala.shanti.virginia.edu/places
2. Click the search icon
   icon 
   • This icon is a magnifying glass in the top right of the pageFind this button below the main menu

   • The search

     menu

     window will

     unfold
3. Leave the search field blank
4. Click the Tree tab

5. • expand

   • The "Results" tab will be selected automatically

6. Click the Browse Places tabClick Earth to expand the hierarchy
   • Note that Earth is the highest level in the Places hierarchy
7. Click + to expand a search result and click - to collapse a search result
8. Click on a search result

   • The Knowledge Map Overview page will appear

1. • "Earth" will be expanded automatically; if it's not, click the + sign next to "Earth"

   • A hierarchy of place names will appear

2. Click the + and - signs to expand and collapse place names
3. Hover over a place name to quickly see its Knowledge Map

   • A pop-over window will appear showing the place's related media

4. Click a place name from the results
   

   • The node page for the place will appear
