A Knowledge Map is a list of media related to a subject or place.

  1. Go to mandala.shanti.virginia.edu/subjects
    • The Subjects homepage will open
  2. Find a subject name
  3. Click the media types in the "Overview" sidebar menu
    • Related media types will open
  4. Click Subjects or Places in the "Overview" sidebar menu to explore related Knowledge Maps
    • Related assets Knowledge maps will open
    1. Hover over an asset
      • A tooltip will show a preview of the Knowledge Map
      • This tooltip may take a few seconds to load
    2. Click the Full Entry button to go to the asset's Knowledge Map
      • The Knowledge Map will open in a new tab
  5. Choose a subject by which to search
    • Go to Search in Subjects or Browse in Subjects for more information
    • The Subject's Knowledge Maps Overview page will appear
    • You will see a list of media in the left sidebar menu connected to the subject
  6. To view connected media, click the menu items in the "Overview" sidebar menu
    • Note that the types and number of media in a Knowledge Map vary from subject to subject
    • A window containing a list of media connected to the subject will appear
  7. Click a media item to go to its Knowledge Map
  8. Note that hovering over related subjects and places shows a pop-up menu of their KMaps. Click Full Entry to go to their KMaps pages.
  9. The Knowledge Map will appear in a new window
