LN2 space (Magnet Shield) Heat Load

Formula:

(Reference: http://twist.phys.virginia.edu:8081/General/69)
Duration:
10/24/2022 from 04:00 to 10:00 (6 hrs) [ Used the formula from elog #65 for LN2 volume]

...

Latent Heat of LN2 = 1.992 x 10^5 J /kg
Heat from boiloff = 1.992 x 10^5 J /kg x 1.417 kg = 2.82 x 10^5 J
Duration in seconds = 6 x 60 x 60 s
Heat Load in Watts = 2.82 x 10^5 J / 7200s = 13.0683 W

Volume difference in 24hrs  = 112.355 – 86.590 L = 25.76 L

That is about ~ 0.7 J/s (W), and this is with LN2 in the shield.

Heat-load for a given 'magnet outlet flow' (in V slm)
(Note: Temperatures in the magnet have to be approximately unchanged during this flow measurement)
