A Knowledge Map is a list of related media to an individual subject or place.

  1. Go to places.shanti.virginia.edu
    • The Places homepage will open
  2. Search a place name you want to view
  3. Find media related to the place Knowledge Map in the "Overview" sidebar menu
    • Note that this list is the place's Knowledge Map
    • Note that the types and number of media in a Knowledge Map vary by place
  4. Click a menu item
    • For example, click Audio-Video to see the audio and video files related to the place
    • Items related to the place will appear
  5. To explore a related item's Knowledge Map, follow steps 5 and 6
  6. To view the Knowledge Map of a related subject or place:
    1.  Hover over the item
      • A pop-up menu will appear previewing the item's Knowledge Map
    2. Click Full Entry to go to the item's Knowledge Map
      • The item's Knowledge Map will open in a new tab
  7. Click the media types in the "Overview" sidebar menu
    • Related assets will appear
  8. Click Subjects or Places in the "Overview" sidebar menu to explore other Knowledge Maps
    • Related assets will appear
    1.  Hover over an asset
      • A preview of the Knowledge Map will open in a menu
      • The preview may take a few seconds to load
    2. Click Full Entry to go to the Knowledge Map page
      • The Knowledge Map page will open
    To view the Knowledge Map of a related image, audio-video, text, or source:
    1. Click the item
    The item's Knowledge Map will open in a new tab
