  1. Pump and purge the IVC with gN2 (at least 5 times). Make sure the pop-off valve on the magnet IVC is closed after each pump-purge cycle, and leave it closed.
  2. There is a check valve at the flex hose connecting to the backing-pump, make sure it is removed (temporarily).
  3. Ensure the TPG361 (at the slow controls rack) is ON, and the IVC pressure can be read using the strip-charts.
  4. Turn ON the backing-pump at NM3.
  5. Once TPG361 reading shows < 1x10^(-2) Torr, then Turn ON the turbo pump on the DCU600 at the Slow Controls Rack.
DCU600 screen should show channels '309' and '315' on the left hand side and rotational speed is shown on the right hand side.
Ensure the rotational speed reaches its maximum (660 Hz), while the pressure reading on TPG361 drops down relatively fast.
  6. This will take about ~ 2 weeks to reach < 4x10^(-6) Torr.
  7. Ensure everything is working well for filling the LN2 shield in the magnet, and perform a LN2 shield fill.

Target Insert

  1. Leak check target insert.  Place in pomp-out tube and connect leak checker and check all NMR connections, fittings, etc to ensure no leaks.
  2. Check all NMR lines and coils are intact and working. Check durability and then connect to NMR and check each one with crystal.
  3. Check microwave flanges and atmosphere seal.  Connect to microwave source and measure microwave intensity coming out with bench top setup.
  4. Check that all temperature sensors are working and reading out appropriately and are not fragile or poorly mounted or connected.
  5. Check that nothing can hang or prevent a smooth transfer into the fridge because of geometric impedance or electrical lines in the way.
