Tasks in Hall

  • Which are most urgent?  Kenichi should work on them before moving to Japan on Aug. 31 (We).

Magnet

As soon as you can please check all the materials I sent about the shim power supply and try to figure out what the output voltages should be and to what set of pins so we can check that all is working.  You may have to piece this together from a few of those sources but I believe what you need is in there.

Once you have that let's check that we are getting what is expected and then make a quick and easy reference of this information and so details about how to check this in the future.

Steps:

  • [Done] Gather all info we have.
  • Update the connection drawing.
  • Others??

UVA elog #20.

Confluence page.

We will try another way of test when finding it. (We need to gather what information we have and make an updated version of the drawing Carlos/Zulkaida made with where each of those leads connects and the voltage they should carry, we should organize this information soon to help with trouble in the future, we will have cooldown soon, priority 1).

LN2The sensors on the nitrogen piping (to the cave) are not represented anywhere in the system.  These will need to be added somewhere like the cryo control panel.  We may already be able to get this information from the QT data stream from the ODH PLC.

Done.  LL106-N and PT106-N were added to the QT Overview screen.

Temp.We also need the sensors from the chilling water from both the NMR system and the microwave system to be in the cryo control VI with some graphics to indicate what it is.  There is more information from the flow of the chiller that should also be indicated.

Steps:

  • Install TCs.
  • Connect to MCC E-TC #3.
  • Add to CCP.
  • One TC for Microwave chiller tube.
  • Three TCs for three NMR Q meters at max. This will be very important to run microwaves unattended in the Hall, priority 2.

InsertWe need to have a least one target insert complete with sensors and a dedicated LakeShore which is read out in the proper location in the VI.  In those insert sensors, we need at least one calibrated Cernox.  You may have to install that one but I can show you where it is.  The other sensors can be vishay chips.

Kenichi - software

Ernesto/Dustin - Insert setup

priority 2.

CablePlease make the two backup cables we need one for the fridge and one for the target insert and install.  I think you said we had short cables already, so let's set up a test station for the insert with a LakeShore for the target insert in the counting-house target work area.

Steps:

  • [Done] Identify the cable spec.
  • [Done] Purchase a cable roll.
  • Make two.

Yes making the backup cables for Fridge and target insert are priority 1.

If small cables are made set up station in counting house for insert testing, also priority 1.

PfeifferAlso, my conclusion on the magnet IVC pressure gauge is that we should buy another one and install it by the turbo.  This is the best backup option I believe.  Please go ahead with that.

Steps:

  • [Done] Requested a quote.
  • Make a purchase order.
priority 1.  By Zulkaida.

PfeifferAlso, the gauge on the magnet pump out, Channel-4 of maxigauge is not working.  We should check the Separator one too and replace all that are needed.Replace the two once receiving the new sensors.

priority 1.  I think we can replace this one right now with the tube one.

CCPPlease change all the subvi button names on the right from the device name to a functional name (I can help if needed).

Steps:

  • Decide the new names.
  • Change the names in VI.

Are these abbreviated names good enough for shifter?  Or do we need them in the pop-up message on each reading?

MKS 670 / 1000  →  Fridge Pres. / 1000

MKS 670 / 100  →  Fridge Pres. / 100

MKS 670 / He3  →  He3 Pres.

MKS 946             →  Main Ret. / Ret. Mani. Pres.

THCD-400          →  He Flow

MaxiGauge         →  Roots Pump / Main Ret. / Mag. Ret. / Sep. Ret. Pres.

Fridge Valve     →  Fridge Valve

BGA244           →  He Purity

TPG361           →  IVC Pres.

MCC E-TC #1  →  Magnet Outer Coil Temp.

MCC E-TC #2  →  IVC / Fridge / Fill Line / Sep. Line Temp.

MCC E-TC #3  →  Anneal. / Micro. Temp.

LakeShore218 #1  →  Fridge Temp.

LakeShore218 #2  →  Target Temp.

LabJack U3 TC  →  QT Comp. LCW Temp.

CCPNeed graphic for NMR/microwave water and flowSet up the hardware first.priority 2.

CCPOrganize temps on the fridge at the proper location for each digital fieldDone.  Move the digital fields.priority 3.

CCPWe will need fridge valve actuator info read out to the field when we get it (can't do now).Set up the hardware first.priority 3.

CCPChange all LN2 and LHe temps to KelvinDone.priority 3.  The unit has not been changed for the temperatures that are expected to be around room temperature (like the fill-line surface temperatures).

CCPAdd in other LakeShore for Insert temps
priority 2.

CCPAdd graphic for QT compressor temps and put temps in
priority 2.

CCPadd magnet coil graphic with both sets inner-4 and outer-8

Steps:

  • [Done] Find how to read out the inner-4 sensors from ITM10.
  • [Done] Implement them in VI.
  • Draw a sketch of sensor locations.
priority 1.

CCPfix purity graphic (it bypasses oil trap but not filters)Done.priority 3.   Fixed in schematic version 6.

CCProots temperatures read out with other roots sensors (will have to calibrate)HMI shows tempspriority 3.

CCPmake fridge level probe graphic indicating levelDone.

CCPmake level probe graphic for LN2 and LHe for the magnet.Add them to the Main panel.

They are available in the magnet VI.

priority 2

CCPOnce we know where the nitrogen pipe sensor is being read out lets put a version in the VI.

priority 1, I am working on this

CCPShow the outdoor relief pipe of that magnet in the VI.  I think we will need a temp sensor here.Set up the hardware first.priority 4.

CCPAdd a function to THCD-400 to close (not only setting flow to 0) the flow controllers.
Done.priority 1.
