The Polarized Target Experts are members of the polarized target group that is on-call for all activities required to keep the target running smoothly.
The target expert is available to help the Target Operator with anything as needed, such as help with fills or annealing.
Target Experts are the only ones authorized to change the current in the superconducting magnet. They are also the only ones authorized to work
in the Hall on any part of the target or cryogenic system, including putting the target insert in and out of the fridge, or replacing target material or
other aspects of material handling.
The target expert is available for system repairs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
