We For Temps there is a limit on how many hours they can work. Temp and wage employees can work no more than 1500 hours in a 12 month period, this works out to be about 9 months if they are working 40 hours/week, or they can work the full 12 months if they are working 29 hours/week. There is no limit on how many hours they can work per week, and any hours over 40 they will be paid at an overtime rate. Generally, we are looking to hire a technician from 12-20$ per hour depending on experience level. They are expected to work the max allowed as temp workers (30 29 hours per week). The start date should be 5/20/20. This position will be paid for by DOE grant: 111015-101-GQ10001-31875

The Solid Polarized Target group at the UVA physics department is looking for a technician to join our research team and assist scientists in the design, implementation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems using analog and digital electronics. Duties for this position include a large range of elementary electrical and mechanical design, construction, and testing as well as a willingness to learn and a general interest in scientific research. Expertise in at least one of the following is highly desired: LabView, SolidWorks, electronics. Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to use basic hand tools and display mechanical aptitude under supervision. Eventually, there will be required travel and possibly long term relocation as the group's main project at the moment is at Fermi National Accelerator Facility in Illinois.

Go to UVA workday, and under the apply now tab apply for the temporary position for engineers and general lab work (doesn't really
matter which one you click they all have the same thing) you fill out all the general information, and you fill out who you're working for.
Then after a day or two, they have you sign some paperwork for the background check. Once all that goes through you should be able to log
into workday without any other issues. Just be sure to put your UVA email address in instead of a different one.
